Genesis... And then, there was light.

Genesis is where you can find in the Bible how God created the universe.

In the King James Bible  you will find what God created and in which order however, the language used can be confusing which is why  I decided to summarize it and write it in a simplistic form which I present as follows:

DAY I

1.    Created the earth and the sky.

2.    Created water.

3.    Created light.

4.    Created darkness.

5.    Created day and night.

DAY II

6.    Created the sky and separated the water from the sky (clouds) from the waters on the planet.

7.    God created the clouds on the sky.

8.    God named the sky “Heaven.”

DAY III

1.    Separated the land and the water.

2.    Named the land Earth and the waters Seas.

3.    Created vegetation.

DAY IV

1.    Created the stars, the moon and the sun.

2.    Assigned the sun to provide light on earth during the day and the moon during the night.

3.    Divided light from darkness.

DAY V

1.    Created fish, seafood and fowl.

2.    Created whales and every living animal in the oceans and the skies.

DAY VI

1.    Created land animals.

2.    Created mankind.

3.    Ordered mankind to eat seeds, vegetables and fruits.

4.    Ordered animals to eat seeds, vegetables and fruits.

DAY VII

1.    Everyone knows God needed a day off… So no work on Sabbath.

That, in a nutshell, is how God created the universe and everything there is.

I must point out that even according to the Bible, the evolution theory is valid and it blows my mind that Christians are so against evolution. The order of creation correlates to the evolution theory. Water covered the planet, the land was one big mass and so was the sea. Life began in the ocean, followed by the birds, next was the mammals and last was mankind. So far, it is exactly as depicted in the evolution theory. No dates were given in the Bible, it could have been trillions of years ago or 1000 years ago, so I do not see the controversy other than Christians refuse science at all cost, even when the Bible doesn’t contradict it.  They refuse to take into consideration that, for a being that has no beginning and no end, one day can translate into millions of earth years.  But no, for them the whole Universe - everything seen and unseen - was created in 8,640 minutes and they will accept no other possibility.

However, nowhere on those 6 days did God created fresh water. It is clear that SEAS were called water, no other reference is made in Genesis and SEAS are salt water. He created vegetation and animals whose life depended on water but did not create a drinkable liquid. Created light before the sun, the moon or the stars and created light and darkness on day 1 but didn’t defined it until day 4… I guess days 1, 2 and 3 were in a nice shade of gray!

When God created mankind, he created it to "his image"… I guess that is why he created a creature that thinks that everything belongs to him and that they could do with the planet and all the things in it whatever they want, destroy it if the so wished.

But, there is one thing that everyone seems to skip. God ordered man to eat seeds, vegetable and fruits, nowhere says it says to eat meat.

In conclusion, this is how ancient men who didn’t know the answers to their questions figured out life began on this planet. We have to forgive them for the inconsistencies, perhaps because they thought the planet was flat or maybe because they thought it was much smaller than it really was but their idea of how life began and how the earth evolved is pretty close to what today's scientist say it happened. We can truly say they were visionaries and Genesis proves that these men were analytical thinkers capable of arriving at conclusions based on their experiences and by observing their surroundings. It is a shame they went wild as they continued explaining the unknown further in the Bible.
